“The Laurence Boy”

“The Laurence Boy” is a 5x7 acrylic painting with a white border. Painted on watercolor paper, that is handmade in India from 100% recycled materials. This piece will ship with a 5x7 mat, backing board and plastic sleeve. You can frame to an 5x7 frame, with or without the mat. 

Random thoughts:
When laying out this collection, this piece remained unnamed for quite awhile. It felt sophisticated, yet playful due to the little touches of light blue “dancing” at the top of the trees. I immediately thought about Theodore Laurence from Little Women. As soon as the word “Dance” came to mind, I thought about Chapter 3, where Jo and Laurie meet at the dance. “The Laurence Boy” offers to dance with Jo, in the long hall, where no one would see the back of her burnt dress. His character was privileged, educated, yet fun and mischievous with his friendly neighbors.
